Gemma Christina Arterton was born in the town of Gravesend, Kent. Greater London. Her most well-known work is for roles in films including Quantum of Solace, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, and many more such as 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. She was born in Gravesend, Kent, in Greater London. Her acting career began shortly after she received her diploma from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Her first appearance was in a comedic show called 'St Trinian's'. The film followed shortly thereafter in "Quantum of Solace" The James Bond spy thriller. Film was commercially successful and got mostly favorable reviews. In the following film, she played the female lead in the action-fantasy film 'Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time'. In the past, she was a role as a support in the French film "Orphan". Arterton was nominated to numerous prizes throughout her career. She was awarded an award called the "Empire Award for the Best Newcomer" for the film "Quantum of Solace" and also the "Evening Standard Theatre Award" for her performance in the musical'Made by Dagenham". Her award was the Glamour Award for the Woman of the Year in 2011.
