Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American actor-producer and stage actress has been known for her roles in the feature film Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actor and producer who is actively involved in theater, film, and on television. Her acting career began in the theater. She then appeared in various television series as well as independent and mainstream film. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just critical acclaim but also numerous nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. In 1995, she was the first to appear in the role of Ariel on the stage as Ariel in The Tempest. She has performed as a character on Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In terms of her work in the film industry the most recognizable roles she has played include Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express The Help. In her television work, she has been praised for her role as the regular character in ABC's police drama High Incident.
